Join us for the sixth instalment of the Automechanika webinar series, in association with Absa and supported by the RMI. The webinar series is locally focused on industry-related topics, aimed at facilitating conversations and panel discussions with key associations and stakeholders, both regionally and internationally.

The webinar will focus on how the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) will help build a successful and scalable automotive manufacturing, component and distribution ecosystems in Africa. The creation of a single continent-wide market will encourage investment and financing solutions that will reshape African economies.

 

Sejeng is the Regional Head for Transactional Banking Sales at Absa Group, where she leads a team that is dedicated to unlocking value for clients through International and Domestic Trade as well Transactional banking services.

She has over 11 years of banking experience whilst her career experience spans through audit, credit, and financial risk management.
Sejeng holds a Bcom Honors qualification and is currently an ACCA candidate.

 

Dr. Norman Lamprecht holds the position of Executive Manager: Trade, Exports and Research at naamsa The Automotive Business Council and is also Director of the Automotive Industry Export Council (AIEC) since 2005.

Prior to joining naamsa, he held positions at Trade and Investment South Africa (TISA) as well as the Board of Tariffs and Trade. He has 32 years extensive knowledge and experience of the national and international automotive industry.

 

Thami Letsoalo is the Business Development Manager: Automotive Sector Relationship Banking: Wholesale, Retail and Franchise Business. 

Thami is a solution lead automotive thought leader providing related specific financial and non-financial solutions to his customers and to the broader sector.

 

Justin Schmidt is a Chartered Financial Analyst who also studied at the University of Johannesburg, where he obtained his BComm (hons) in Investment Management and joined Absa while still studying.

Justin is an experienced leader in the Financial Services sector with strong analytical and business development skills. With 14 years of rich industry experience, he has successfully driven innovation and started new focus areas within the organisation.
